Thank you very much for the good service and nice accommodations. My wife, three children, and I had a very pleasant week. It was a busy time of year at les Mas de St Hilaire and the Vendee but your staff remained friendly and helpful. While St Jean de Monts was more touristy than we anticipated, we found les Mas de St Hilaire to be a nice sanctuary, being so close to the forest and the beach. My kids, being English speakers, had fun playing with the predominately English children at the resort. We were lucky enough to have a paved patio—the sandy patios would have been a problem for keeping sand out of the house.Feel free to publish my comments on the website (which, by the way, is excellent).John 23/7/5

Hello we did have a nice holiday and the accommodation was very pleasant, in the new complex (In spite of having one of the boys bike stolen from the nearby dunes because they did not lock it!!) We must confess that though that in all honesty that the Notre Dame end is more pleasant and relaxing. When will we be refunded the damage deposit? As this does not appear to have happened yet. Dear Jacqueline,Thanks for your e-mail. We did indeed have a most enjoyable holiday at Mas St Hillaire. The accomodation was very well appointed. There could possibly have been a few more sun loungers but the barbeque proved most useful. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful.As it was a very busy week, we found the pool a little small and crowded at times.On wednesday, we went into St.Jean shopping. During this trip I lost my car keys and really panicked as I had no spare key. After spending a couple of hours retracing our steps we had no luck finding them.I reported the loss at the police station. I spoke very little French but eventually managed to sort out all the details needed.We returned to St Hillaire quite despondent. An hour later I received a phone call from the police station to say my keys had been handed in, with over £200 in sterling and euros intact !!My faith in human nature has been totally restored. I was however unable to find out the name of the person who handed in the keys or the policeman and people at the town hall who helped me.Is it possible for you to convey my thanks to the relevant authority in St.JeanRegardsAlun

Thanks for your message - we had a great time at St Hilaire. The accommodation was great - - very well equipped and nicely laid out. your website had suggested the accommodation would be very basic, when in fact it was far better than we were expecting.The only thing we would suggest would improve the site would be to have the same car park number as the house number, as when you first arrive after a long journey , the site map is really confusing and some better signage of where each number is located on site would be really helpful. This is however only a very small gripe as we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend holiday vendee to friends.Thanks again.Sue T 20/8/5
Hi Ladies, Thank you for your welcome home message. We had a wonderful time at les Mas de St Hilaire and the great weather was the cherry on the top. We found the accomodation to be of higher standard than expected with a very clever layout of the villas. The only thing I would have changed was to have a tiled patio rather than the sandy one which would have made the task of cleaning the villa, on departure, an easier chore. However, my nine year old, who does not think about cleaning much, enjoyed the sand very much... We were also delighted with the pool area and found it to be clean and very inviting. It was a little crowded some mornings but usually when we were there between around 15:00 to closure, we had it almost to ourselves. We also found the resort as a whole to have pleasant surroundings, and it was clean, quiet and peaceful. All in all, I have to say that this has been one of our most successfull holidays. We had a fantastic weeks holiday at Mas de St Hilaire, The accomodation was clean and spacious and the reception staff were excellent.I have one small comment which is that although I realise that the houses are privately owned so each is different, it was noticeable that my sister who was staying on the site to had a much better equipped house, . Although she had a smaller property she also had a lot of wardrobe space, whereas our property had only one small hanging rail and no drawers.This was our second time using your company and I have recommended it to many of our friends. I would love to receive prices for any of your properties for 2006 as we will undoubtedly be booking again.Thanks againAlison 27/8/5

Hi - We had a wonderful week at Mas de St Hillaire. The accommodation was of a higher standard than we had expected, and the building work was not a problem at all. The pool is wonderful! The booking was smooth and troublefree, and as we arrived late the key was waiting for us in the post box as arranged. It would be useful to have a list of emergency numbers available, either in the villas or outside reception, as reception was not open often or for long! Also, a little local information would not go amiss, but apart from that is was a fabulous holiday and we would definitely like some details about next year. Best wishes, Robin June 2005
All we can say is what a great holiday and resort. On arrival the girl on reception was helpful and when opening the door to our apartment well, what a surprise. The size and set out of the unit was superb, the equipment in the unit left nobody wanting. We can certainly say that we will be and have, recommended this resort and internet site to others on our return, and we will be looking to book again for next year, this time we hope for 2 weeks, so we can enjoy the area and facilities more. Hi . We had a fabulous time. I've never been to the Vendee before and it's truly beautiful. The Le Mas de St. Hilaire was immaculate. The accommodation suited us down to the ground and had everything we wanted. The children soon hooked up with an English family and we weren't afraid to let them out to play on their own even though the youngest is four. Cars are confined to non-residential area and the entrance gate only opens with a code. The children really enjoyed the pool, a minute's walk from our house. Not everywhere was open off-site - we were told the season really begins in June - but we found a brilliant adventure playground and a dream bouncy castle park.. The weather was good, not a drop of rain, with plenty of sunshine. The village was very quiet, which suited us down to the ground, and the people who owned properties there said that was one of the key reasons for their buying a place. We loved the long, sandy beaches and the fact we could walk there inside ten minutes. Condor Ferries did us proud. Put us in Club Class going over and reclining chairs coming back on a packed ferry. The crossing took half the time of the usual 11-hour Portsmouth-St Malo route. All in all, it was superb holiday for a young family and we wouldn't hesitate to go back again. Karen, Isabelle, Jacqueline, Gill and Claire,The accommodation was superb and was exceptional value for money.The site and location were superb as were the facilities on the complex, we were particularly pleased with the outdoor patio area as it enabled the kids to play but the gate kept them safer. With regard to the website and the booking process (whilst I was nervous at first) it all went through painlessly and the website was easy to use and when I needed to speak to any of you I received very courteous and comprehensive service. Hi there, We had a fantastic holiday. The first week in Les Mas de Sait Hilaire was perfect - the house was beautiful, plenty of space and in a wonderful location (quiet and secluded). The best we have had yet. The effort you made to help us out with the impromptu extra week was incredible! The actual appartment was fine (not quite as good facilities as the pervious week ) but the location was wonderful. We really had a fabulous time and will come back again. Hi Wake Up in France We enjoyed our time at Mas de Ste Hilaire - the complex was very pleasant, clean and tidy, with a good sized swimming pool - our villa was good, with plenty of room for all five of us - two bathrooms were very useful. We travelled from London by train, and used bicycles to get around, mainly cylcing to St Jean de Monts each day for the market and beach. The Staff on Reception were friendly and helpful, in the main. The children were able to meet and play with other children, which they enjoyed. The atmosphere around the pool was cool - low key and family friendly.Overall the area was a little disappointing - we had difficulty finding decent restaurant food - most were tacky, touristy etc, but this is probably because we weren't able to venture further than about an hour, because of not having a car. The Euro exchange rate was awful, but that's certainly not your fault!!!!Thanks again.Elaine Byfield
Hi thereWe enjoyed our stay at Mas de St Hilaire. We loved the atmosphere of the complex – a real family feel with the pool busy all day long and lots of people coming and going throughout the day and yet lovely and peaceful in the evenings. We also found the beds really comfortable so, combined with lots of fresh air during our long days on the nearby beach, we all slept really well too!The only ‘negative’ comment I would make is that we did not feel that the accommodation was as clean and fresh as it could have been. Bearing in mind that it was the start of the summer season when we went, it was really not that clean, with marks on the walls, dirt in the nooks and crannies and stains on the sofa. All these things could easily have been dealt with during low season and it did give the accommodation a rather shabby feel. We did not pay for cleaning at the end of our stay – it was incredibly pricey and based on the cleanliness on our arrival, I don’t think it would have been worth the money either. I can say for certain that we left the accommodation considerably cleaner than we found it!Regards Emma Swan
