| A: The accommodation is normally rented from Saturday afternoon to Saturday 10h/10am, in July and August. However different arrival and departure days and different length of stay are available in other months on request. We even have some accommodation which is Pay per night for the Puy du Fou accommodation called Residence Hoteliere du Bocage and Maisons du Parc, Les Epesses. We have a « late availability » service - please use our property search availability date feature or check each property description or send an email. > Back to Top |
| Q: What equipement is included in the accommodation? |
| A: Your accommodation will be equipped for holiday use but please remember most French owned holiday homes often do not have kettles or teapots, not enough hangers and the plugs will need adaptors. There will be a table and chairs but sometimes not many comfy armchairs and sofas, unless you choose a top grade accommodation unit. Pillows or bolsters, blankets or eiderdowns are provided and please read the linen section on each property as some houses have linen inlcuded or you can order it before you arrive. There will be cooking facilities, kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery are provided - please look at each property in detail to see if it meets your requirements. The washing machines and dryers are often coin or token operated and run by the local key holders at reception. Please email for any extra details you require in order to make a suitable choice. There are various internet cafes now in France or often the local library has a computer for the use by the general public. > Back to Top |
| Q: Where are the photos from, and availability and information from on this web site? |
| A: The availability on our web site is updated regularly but to avoid bugs we do this manually, so there can be a delay between an option taken or a booking made, the availability updated and a further request for a holiday. At present this is our chosen method of the secure way of treating online availability.

| Q: What do I need to insure? |
| A: We strongly recommended you to arrange a comprehensive travel insurance policy including cover for any accidental damage caused to holiday accommodation. This is required for more and more holiday properties both in England and France now and is often covered under the insurance but please do double check. Also insurance for cancellation cover, medical cover and to have full cover for the party's personal belongings, public liability etc., since these are not covered by the property insurance. Please bring your E111 with you. > Back to Top |
| Q: Where do I pick up my key and at what time? |
| A: Arrival Time And Key Collection For holiday villages: - You will need to book your travel to arrive in your destination between either 16h (4pm) or 17h (5pm) and either 18h (6pm) or 20h (8pm). Please refer to each property for arrival times. You must telephone receptions and arrange a late key collection point; most receptions have a coded late key collection box and we will issue you with a code. For private houses: - It is imperative to book your travel to arrive in your destination between 16h (4pm) and 18h (6pm) on Saturday. Key collection is ONLY between these times. After payment of the balance of your holiday, you will be given details of the estate agency who looks after these houses for their French owners and who will be your contact during your holiday. You need to go to the estate agency to pick up your key for your house and this closes at 18h/6pm. It is imperative to book your travel with these arrival times in mind. A late arrival will mean you cannot access the accommodation for your first night and you will have to stay in a hotel - perhaps even till Monday as their offices are not open on a Sunday. No nights can be refunded for a late arrival as the estate agency is closed at 6pm/18h. For arrival on any other week day other than a Saturday, please contact us prior to reservation. The estate agencies and receptions are responsible for the upkeep of the houses and you should contact them direct if you have a problem during your holiday. > Back to Top |
| Q: What is the Taxe De Sejour : The Local Tourist Tax ? |
| A: The Local tourist tax is set by the Mayor or each town and is payable from April to October. It varies from different towns (refer to each property details for the latest tarif) and is charged per person per day and is to be paid on arrival to the key holder - often in cash. We have checked and the small amounts per person collected are regularly put directly back into tourism developments in the local villages. > Back to Top |
| Q: May I book linen or what other extra services may I book? |
| A: You may now take advantage of many services at receptions. Some properties have many hotel services. Each property has the prices shown for the different services. Many are excellent value for money and leave you more space in the car for wine on your return journey if you dont take your own sheets and towels. You may well take up the option of hiring linen. Please contact us minimum two weeks before arrival and we may be able to liaise with reception and order this for you and you pay on arrival. Or after your balance is paid, you are given the key holders telephone number so you may telephone them to reserve any linen. Please note some linen is provided at some of the Holiday Villages and is included in the price - please refer to the property descriptions; Please make sure we have the correct number of people in your party if you reserve linen or if it is included. Other services include : cot or high chair, extra maid cleaning services, french or satelite television, Final cleaning service, breakfast or Hotel service options. Or please bring all your own linen: sheets, towels, pillow-cases, bath and hand towels, and beach towels. Don't forget your tea towels or oven gloves either. Eiderdowns or blankets and pillows are provided. However as in alot of French houses there are the square pillows and round long bolsters/traversins - alot of our clients prefer to bring their own rectangular pillows from their home plus their own pillowslips that fit that shaped pillow! > Back to Top |
| Q: What is a compulsary security and cleaning deposit? |
| A: The majority of cleaning and security deposits are required to be paid on arrival with key collection in Euros cash or credit card and vary in price from different accommodation - please refer to each property. You are politly reminded to leave your accommodation in a clean and tidy condition. It will be checked after or on your departure and your deposit will be refunded only if your accommodation is clean, and minus any breakages or cleaning costs or any extras. You will be charged for the cleaning of your accommodation if it is not left clean enough. At most of the properties you may wish to take advantage of the final cleaning services. Please do reserve this service if you do not wish to clean your accommodation. You must agree a departure check-out time - if you need to leave very early you must arrange what you will do with the key and what to do in order to receive your deposit, normally sent by post to you later or the credit card slip is destroyed. Departure check-out times are normally 8am to 10am. PLEASE NOTE : We cannot enter into any discussions about how clean you left your accommodation. This is between you and the Reception or Estate agency staff. > Back to Top |

After balance payment has been made, you will receive an email with a letter with key collection details. This will include the address of the key holder and your accommodation. Many clients recommend the Michelin web site for directions and such web sites as the AA and Mappy etc. > Back to Top |
| Q: May I bring my dog? |
| A: Please think carefully about bringing your pet on a long car journey in the hot sun. And even though there is some accommodation that accept pets, please ask yourself the question:
Where will you leave your beloved pet when you are out for the day - in the rented villa they don't feel at home in? in a scorching hot car? with you on the beach in the sunshine?
However if you wish to bring your pet we would suggest you use this link to the MAFF (http://www.maff.gov.uk/animalh/quarantine) for the latest guidelines for the pets passport and all the details about the vaccination and chip details. Please check their web site for the latest information on which french ferry ports have the equipment to read the chips. And don't forget their passports and all the paperwork either or they won't let you and your pet into France or back to England!!
How to proceed with a booking if you want to bring your pet
You must write on the booking form and inform us if you are bringing a dog. Each property indicates if pets are allowed. Some houses will accept a dog outisde July and August. > Back to Top |
